Fixing Roads

Email to a Friend

The Situation:

Trying to fix a road washed out by water and got too close to a very soft shoulder with a load of gravel on the truck.

How We Got Unstuck:

A grader held the truck stable while a backhoe unloaded the truck and dug beside the truck tires to level the truck out. The grader was then able to pull the truck out without any damage to the truck or anyone getting hurt.

#1 Lesson Learned:

Don't trust any road shoulder that has water on both sides and the water table is high. Wind and water will erode the road to make it unstable.
